Vet in the Hills

Operation Reboot has committed it’s time and resources to a project rebuilding a mobile home for a Vietnam Veteran. Upon returning home from War he waited one year before seeking help at a VA facility. He was told he was not a Veteran because he did not “look” like one, and was turned away. With no one to help him he again waited one year before attempting to seek help at yet another VA facility, where they assumed he was merely seeking prescription drugs. Since 1974 this Veteran has lived in the woods and caves of Washington County Arkansas. He has helped other Veterans by offering protection from the elements in his shelters. However, he has since been OFFICIALLY identified as a United States Veteran and has been given a mobile home by a fellow Veteran who understands his specific circumstances. Due to a failure of the water heating unit %40 of the flooring has been damaged and needs to be replaced. We are also seeking an electric stove, carpeting, and tile for the floor, a replacement water heater, washer and dryer, a refrigerator, insulation for under the mobile home, tin for under-skirting, steps or board material for front and back doors, a heater or wood-burning stove, A/C window units, and toilet. This Veteran wishes to remain anonymous seeking no media attention…he is NOT A SPECTACLE, though before and after photos of the home will be published on this page. Help us welcome this Gentleman home from Vietnam, finally.

LIfe For The Better

My heart has more to say than my mouth but I will try. Today Operation Reboot came to my now new apartment and gave us living room furniture and kitchen furniture. OUTSTANDING. My wife and I have been homeless since April. I lost my job in Oct 2014, because I’m 55 with disabilities no one would hire me so I applied for SS Disability. But as you know that can take years. What a shameful operation SSA is. So we got evicted and became homeless. We stayed with son for a bit, daughter for a bit and some friends. I even slept in a U-Haul truck with my dogs for two days. We were told about 7Hills, what a life saver they are. If anything they gave us hope. Through them we were told about OPERATION REBOOT. We finally got my Disability started, only then did we find a place to live. That’s where OPERATION REBOOT came into play. The entire team is a God send. My wife and I feel normal again. They are Veterans helping veterans. Like I said, my heart can say so much more. Thank you BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
